Fabulous day

made 4 cakes for the sale tomorrow strawberry banana.  pineapple chocolate.  peach chocolate.  chocolate chocolate. yummmmmmmm

cleaned one empty lot and had 2 helpers pop up

ran home to give a class to the baby students = they are learning so fast and they are so cute. Class is at 10 now since their schedule changed at school.  Better for me. this class at 10 and the next is at 4. nice break in between

loaded the car with tons of stuff for the ecotourism garage sale  but all the goodies mom bought will not make it in time  .... that part is really a bummer since so many people have been in and out of san diego over the last couple days. and even more have come south from ensenada. wasn't meant to be. if it comes for Sunday the Cotty will be thrilled.

heard from the president of the motor company and he wants to know the price of the banos ecologicos or porta potties - which i take to mean he is going to buy them !!!   touche touche touche

finally got a quick chance to talk to mom. she is tired and says I am tiring her out !!  Glad there are some garage sales tomorrow and a fishing one on Sunday.

we put up the Christmas tree !!!!  les set it up in a huge tub of water.  i put the lights and decorations. he put the top decorations. i had some kids help with the tinsel.  then les did the top with tinsel and i finished the bottom tinsel. most of the decorations are the ones we just bought in Poland. and the really old ones the boys or Maureen or her kids made when they were young.  or which i bought when they were young. some belonged to my grandma. such a traditional tree and we love it. the whole house smellls of evergreen.

hired 2 young students to sell with me tomorrow !!  should be the BOMB !!!  I an excited for them and for me. Kids are easy to deal with. and they smile and hopefully everyone will buy from them ..

Celerino from the Biospere has finally come around =  we have touched bases and hopefully he will make this  project take off. I am counting on him.  Need to see who Mauro used for the many studies they require. Need to have a friend who is a biologist Okd by the Mexican gvt to handle these environmental issues inexpensively and rapido .... as anyone who knows me can attest = I want it all for yesterday. and free.

Derek of San Diego has been in touch too. We finally got the lowdown on some trashcans.  Dave gave us 2 that are by his trailer and I think one will go to the coop store and one will go to Prieto. I asked to coop today to give another trashcan to the store. If they do, BOTH trashcans will go to Prieto so he has no more excuses to throw the trash on the ground. I saw him at church last Sunday ( I went to get the priest to get the townpeople to clean up their world a little more) and Prieto did a double take when he saw me ...so I guess this is a good time to tell his story:

Months ago, we decided to clean up years of trash he had accumulated in an area all around his little grocery store. It took 4 of us two whole days to pick it all up and it was disgusting. I had asked him previously if he wanted help and he said sure. So we cleaned and cleaned.  Mind you, I am paying the guys to help me.  Then the next day there is trash thrown on the ground again. when i ask the girl in the store why ???? she tells me it was the owner himself .... well, i was with my neighbor Linda and asked her to take me to his house. it was the end of the day. i was exhausted. i was furious.

we went to his house which is near Juanchy and Joaquin's mom's house. i  knock on the door. he comes out with the lousiest attitude and tells me to go away. walks back into his house !!!!  so ......

 i start to cry and ask him if he thinks I enjoy picking up  other people's trash ...  my voice gets louder and louder. people come out of their houses to see what is happening. MAJOR DRAMA SCENE. he is now back outside and trying to calm me down. i am crying hysterically.  DO NOT LITTER, i tell him. it is dangerous to your clients who are buying your food products. it causes rats to come and roaches to come and it is wrong .... Linda is upset that I am upset and we eventually go home. I am still crying when I get home .... Les who is waiting for me to have dinner and pack since we would be leaving for Europe in a couple days, shakes his head and quietly hugs me and says ,,,,,  THAT'S IT. TIME FOR ME TO DEFINITELY TAKE YOU ON A VACATION. and he just watched me bawl .......

I can sometimes laugh about it now, altho my eyes still tear up when I remember that afternoon. And the worst of it is: He is still making a mess. But I promised I would get him some trashcans ....( I ran my own business and it is hard work and it is hard to make ends meet when you are so small = maybe he cant afford the cans ???? no idea. but when the delegado got 60 of them for free,a month after this incident, and gave me NOT one trash barrel, I felt bad cause I had indeed promised Prieto a couple of them. Now Derek and Dave are coming to save the day.  Heros they shall be !!!  I kid you not ....

But Les and I never go to church here - hard to follow mass with no booklet and Les is not interested but this i tell u = Prieto was shocked to see me .... and I am sure his conscience is or at least should be feeling very very guilty !!!!

Back to the priest - he did not show up since his car broke down. I left a message and our biz card for him to call - I want to tell him that he needs to come more often than once a month. the people here are really religious. if we need to write to the Pope, so be it.

Meeting with the surfers on Sunday to see what we can put together.  Maureen will talk to Marcio - he is still making surfboards in San Diego but might be traveling and doing a tournament in Sergipe.  Turns out Maile is doing a tournament in Uruguay .....

Took pictures of the window we need for the Parenting Class building. The ladies never looked me up yesterday with their wish list but I did stop by and took a good picture. Will send to the window lady and see if she can donate a window or 10....

I also talked to the director of the elementary school.  He was resistant to coming up with his part of the bargain - 500 pesos for this week - but said i could count on it when i said i would pull out of the fund raising if he didnt put in his part.  he was going to have a meeting with the parents today.  they need to pitch in as well.  and i will make cakes for the students to sell on Tuesday ..... can someone remind me ?????

Cotty will do the Sunday sale at her church. fantastic.  I asked mom to buy a lot of full long skirts esp for them

my cakes are so good.  i have to try each one.  just a small piece !!!  diet diet diet ... right out the window

a bunch of people will be cleaning up the old plant = gearing myself up for the recycling center !!!  exciting times are these

time to watch the novela .... les is quietly snoring ... then again I should go to sleep. Tomorrow is another looooooooooooong day.
