Our first attempt at blogging.
My goal is to reach as many people in the world as possible about our little piece of paradise ~ I want to talk about La Bocana, Baja Sur, Mexico ...
We are on the Pacific Ocean, 600 miles south of San Diego. Our village has around 1200 inhabitants, well make that 1202 - which now includes Les and myself, Blanca.
Having lived here full time for 3 years now, there is much to share.
Fishing is our reason for existence. Dorado, tuna, yellowtail and sometimes wahoo. There is a fishing coop, so almost all the residents work there. This means everyone has a purpose and an income. Some are fishermen, some dive for abalone, some cage lobsters, some can, some clean and all of us eat well ! No one goes hungry and most have a sideline business as well - cafe, restaurant, clothes boutique, small grocery store ...
Future blogs will talk about the UPCOMING Fishing Tounament weekend. La Bocana women in action to clean La Bocana up. English classes for adults and kids. Interviews with locals and conversations with visitors to our B and B !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hola Les, Thanks for the photos and a GREAT DAY ...... I'll never forget the first wahoo trip and the great captain. You two are wonderful and we will certainly spread the word about your place.......we got home around 7:30 and did not see any lights on at Casa Vessels, perhaps Scoop decided not to fly down because of the hurricane. Thanks again to you and Blanca.... Lou
