Wednesday, Nov 11

Got a note from Clicerio and the governor got the petition and the cover letter. That was FAST. Can't wait to hear from him.  Bulldozer, here we come.

Also got an email from Eduardo who gave  me the name of the aaaaaahitect who cn make the bathroom in the library happen. I am soooooooooo happy.  Great day.

Tomorrow morning, I go to clean up around town with a group of ladies and then I get an hour or two with the guys and the big dumptruck to clean up some abandoned fridges and stoves and outhouses

I also teach the kids from Punta Abreojos English - second class with them. Tues and Thursdays before they have to take the bus back to their village.

Mark and Dale are here from Mulege. Met them last year, we are hoping they have a super day fishing tomorrow.  Dale wants to buy a T-shirt - another help to the cleanup cause !!

Patty from Willimatic, Connecticutt is going to take up a collection for the project - I tell you, I am one very lucky woman.  Maybe we can make this international !!  Italy, Germany, Poland ... hmmmm, I will have to think about how to do that !!

Thanks all - every penny helps and there is so much to be done. Besides the trash  =

the elementary director told me that the new bathrooms put in by the government leak all over the place. I asked the local plumber to go take a look.

the kids there have NO cafeteria. They eat in the full sun - and we live in a desert. Come on now....what are these parents thinking ????  time to get them moving to give their kids some shade and a proper place to eat.

the director's biggest wish is a small theater area - he has a ton of land - the school site is really really big. So, i asked a friend to go over and see howmuch he would charge to make a simple theater stage and bldg.   I am trusting that God will provide the doantions for this to happen - it is a great idea.  Theater Art Music - the kids need it all, as wel all know....some of the kids are so talented - one kid draws so well I put some of his artwork on my fridge.  And encouraged hom to go to art school.  He is a master at age 11.

The high school wants a  phys ed area. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm They have saved 50,000 towards this already. Then, maybe we could turn our downtown area which is now a huge concrete slab with a basketball court, into a proper park with trees and benches where all of us could spend evenings. Remeber - we have no cinemas, no malls, no theater - at least a walk in the park would be great great great.

The fishermen really have no facilites on the beach. Because we are a preserve - The Vizcaino Biosphere - they cannot put concrete.  So, we make it outt of wood.  If it blows down - we build another one. Their life is hard work - fishing EVERY DAY including Sundays - altho they are well paid by Mexican standards and they are sometimes home at noon.   Their quality of life is superb and they don't even know it.  How many of us got to spend afternoons with the family ?  Their dreams are quite different from ours - they want big beautiful cars and simple unpainted (also unsafe) houses. And most still have outhouses. I never saw one til I came here.

My brother put on an art show in NY. I am proud of him too.

Patty's brother is making a new movie. I don't even know him but get to follow all his steps as he gets ready for making it. Amazing.
