Half the year has gone by already folks....we are in July. time is flying

One day next week the whole Bahia Asuncion gang is coming to visit ... I think it will be a lot of fun to see those we know and to meet the rest of the contingent !!

I wrote to Marek about making a bike poster to advertise the bike routes. this way, I can post them while we are in the states. Now I need to make a website for the 3 villages with the blurbs on each one. In the end, it will be fantastic and I hope we generate a lot of business

Today I made 24 cupcakes. 24 brownies and a cake for the bike club to sell and generate some more cash so they can travel this weekend.  The older boys had some brownies and milk ( I feel like a mom again) and then I dropped them off to continue trail blazing the new bike route.

Maniaco told me that he can take the boys to the race on Saturday - so they are ready for Sunday - and that someone who is Hawaiian was looking for Les and I yesterday. He will visit us in a couple days OR come back in October.  wonder who it is ?????

taught this morning at the seguro social ... it was pretty quiet there ... I am glad that Rafael and Melli are improving day by day. they both have good ears now ... the answer quickly and well. Sister Isabel left for good yesterday. she went home for a family visit and then will study in Mexico City

just started communicating with Chin on facebook - we went to high school in Rio de Janeiro together and I hadnt heard from him in 35 years ....still don't know what he does for a living, but it turns out he is Korean and will be going to Seoul in August .... hopefully he and Marc can get together !!  imagine that

yolie came by and they are going to ssanta rosalia tomorrow - maybe they can buy the paint les needs for the house. she is trying to negotiate for a better deal for her little hotdog stand.  they are charging them 70 pesos a day - too high for a mini stand .....

they will also stop by at the politicians office to see if he will doante a bus for the kids to get around. we are having such a hard time with transportation and I dont want any kid left behind. the next race is on July 4th

it is ever so windy in bocana and cold to boot

i am going thru the zillions of pictures - there are so many - i wish they were physical so i cold just put them in their correct piles

yolie and freddy are coming to dinner tonite - we shall have pizza - easy and good. for dessert, fruit salad

ezekiel stopped by. he has hurt his finger and will not be able to race this Sunday

tomorrow we will decide who will be in charge of the bikers so that les and i can concentrate of more bikes and the next club - skateboarders of la bocana :)

i can still remember the littlest details about the trip. it was unforgettable and i am so glad we splurged and did it .... we thought about putting it off but  what is the point ???? so many things happen unexpectedly

i am trying to get a hold of my son Marc - he is traveling and soon leaves for korea. i want to see him before he goes !!!!

went out this morning to clean la bocana. looked for antonieta and linda but couldnt find them, so i went to the beginning of town to clean the huge lot in front of Nelos construction.

 this is what we started the other day - the bike club and I but there was a lot left to do. well, at 9 am it was boiling hot. nelos son, Beibe, came and helped. it is now spotless !!

May 3 , Monday

Today .....the photos shall tell most of the story: 
first, 6 of us cleaned up the stadium for 5 hours:

Then I get notified by the police that the kids are riding the bikes late at night ... we agree to hold a parent and kid and Blanca meeting ... result:  the kids must stop riding bikes on the roads at 8.  They will have one more chance and then, if there is another complaint, the bikes come to my house. One more chance after that ....then with another complaint,  the club closes down for good.

The police have the new computer I brought, which Allen from UCSD donated !!!    They are very happy with it and I am so glad they got it up and running on their own ...another successful day in La Bocana

The Les arrived at the end of the day with new bikes which were delivered to punta abreojos by their coop !!!  Finally some girls' bikes and guess who wants one ?????

Yolisbeth !!!!    The boys' (Carlos, Nacho, Andres) sister !!!  Now I am on the team, she says with a big smile !!  Sweet ..........

Huge day in La Bocana

inauguration of the baseball season in honor of Panchon - he got an award and certificates ... and lots of applause. i learned that one game he made 3 homeruns. and at his last game, at age 33, he made 2 homeruns. he definitely put la bocana baseball on the map

i met the presidents of the municipality and the boys handed him his letter requesting a vehicle for the team. all the boys signed and all the parents signed as well.  at the end of the second game (la bocana lost the first and the second is on right now), the boys will be given their bike awards so that all of la bocana can see them shine.  it was thought that this was as good a time as any...tons of people and they will all see what the boys have achieved. (didn't happen. I think Guero forgot, but the kids gave the president the letter asking for a bike club van)

Guero is the MC, so it is all good.  Enrique is taking Les's letter to the States to mail - we still havent gotten his meds ... third time his doctor messes up the process. Les was smart and asked for a copy of the prescription or we would be up a tree for the third time.  as it stands, he will mail it off for us and we have to wait for the meds to arrive. late, but at least they will arrive :)

on a sad note - there are NO trashcans at the stadium. not a one. isn't that just peechy keen ?  honestly, what planet is everyone on ?  the stadium is the last spot before the beach. any trash, with wind, ends up right in the ocean.  take a guess where i will be tomorrow ................. yep, you guessed right !!

and , i have no idea where i put the camera. i took a million photos yesterday. i have no idea where i put it.

we did a carwash today and I am sosososooooooooooooooooo tired.  the boys really are not ready to be on their own. they are NOT repsonsible and I feel very unsafe leaving them alone. So, from now on, one parent will have to be there the whole time. quite simple. I have done the carwashes repeatedly thinking eventually they would be ok on thier own, but this simply has not panned out. they turn the radios on really loud, they move people's stuff around in the car, they forget to put the small carpets back in and worst of all, they get ready to send the car off still dirty !!!!  Anyway, better safe than very very sorry - each parent will have to commit !!

funny story:  this morning only 2 of the boys showed up to wash cars - Nacho and Chino. Later on Andres came.  So, I called Leo and his dad - his dad  said he was sick and I said - no problem, he doesnt have to mess with the water - he can note down the cars that come and pay up. so i talked to leo and explained this to him and went to get him.  as soon as he gets to the main square, he jumps out of the car and starts washing with the boys. whatever !!!!

the i go for memo. i had heard that he and his mom had an argument cause he did not want to come to the sqaure. so ...i went hunting for him as well. he was "in the bath" and i waited about 10 minutes. then Rex decides to growl at Beathoven, who is their HUGE saint bernard. who, obviously, growls right back. i start yelling LOUDLY for Irma and Memo. finally irma comes and gets her dog. memo shows up at the door and i ask for his help finding Cristian who is not at his own house. Memo jumps in the car and we go hunting for Cristian.  who, by the way, was supposed to come and see me three days ago !!  we find out that he has gone to guerrero. i tell the family to tell him that his TIA BLANCA is hunting for him !!  Memo and i go to the square and what does he do ?????  jumps  out and starts washing cars too. whatever !!!!

i am exhausted.  it was  a long day.

the great news is that Valentin dropped by and gave them a car to wash. when i was dropping it off, Valentin mentions that he wants to take them on a looooooong bike ride next Saturday. i asked him to come to the park and give the speach on how to prepare. he did and it was fun. he is going to teach them how to use their MIND and forget about the body. very cool. VERY COOL

I also had some outstanding news. Eddy picked up the bikes from Ray yesterday. yahoooooo. so they are in ensenada. and ernesto, our good friend ernesto, took franks bikes and jose's bikes to TJ. his brother will then take them  to ensenada when he has a chance !!!!  I AM THRILLED. I AM HAPPY.  REALLY REALLY HAPPY !!!!
