we woke up to puring rain and howling wind...what ??? in La Bocana ???? so i assumed the boys would not be bicycle racing in ojo de liebre. at 6 i roll out of bed and gve them a call...they are rip roaring ready to go

oh my gosh .. rushed upstairs ...got ready ...they came and loaded their bikes in the car..we went to Yolie and Freddy's house ..and we went. Les complaining ever so Loudly cause he thought the rain would not stop. floods. where is your sense of adventure, I ask.  Les sure  has changed in the last 3 years.  bummer !!!!  i want my happy go lucky spunky crazy man back !!

Andres wins 3rd place

just a little rain ... lots of puddles ... and then before campo fisher freddy and yolie's car conks out. we get the 3 bikers in our car and leave them. in the end he drove almost to vizcaino, got a friend to pick him up and they spent all day working to discover it was not the gas pump as originally thought (thank the Lord since that was going to cost them 5000 pesos )  but just a wire that needed a new one put in. when we came back at 5 we met up again in vizcaino and followed them home. just to make sure all went OK

so we drove to ojo de liebre. it is a long drive. it is muddy and there is salt everywhere. it is a whale watching site - simple. no hotels just palapas for camping at 5 dollars a night. a communal shower, an audiovisual room and a simple restaurant.

when we finally arrive, we are one of the first cars. lots and lots of folks start coming. it is amazing. a real sense of family. a real sense of having fun, they let the little ones ride first. i cannot tell you how cute they are !!!  what a grand way to promote riding bikes and easey going competition and downright FUN.

my boys win the races !!!!  Nacho won 1st place and his brother Andres won 3rd !!!  Cristian never races in the end .... which is beyond weird. I also heard from Linda that Memo is giving his mom and teachers trouble - doing badly in school. sassy/ problems. his dad died in that horrible car accident.  he is reacting now.  his mom works 24/7.  time for me to try and have a talk with him too.

the guerrero negro organizers will come to bocana on march 28 and will run the race for me. i saw. i learned what i could. there is no way i can pull it off by myself. they are so kind. i am really truly glad that they are so generous. in exchange i will let them sell at our event.  tit for tat.  othes can sell too but their food looked mighty delicous !!!  we took our own huge picnic so we didnt try it out

so i am thrilled. what a great day. my only regret is that Les is not more into it.  He goes. He participates reluctantly. I cannot do it without him.  Were it the States, no problem, but here, I was the ONLY woman at the meeting this morning and Les was in the car !!!  I begged him to come and stand by me. he did. HE DID!!!
