am trying to get la bocana to wake up and realize we are in danger - a tsunami here - even a tiny one - would destroy the village - no one cared - the police officer - Luis - came and called the Mexican disaster board and they said there is no danger. jeez. right .............................
I heard that a wave did come into the lagoon - the tide went up very fast and went back out again very fast
now we have finally heard that over 700 people died. The president of Chile, on this first day, said she did not need any help. Well, after days of hunger and thirst - major looting - major disaster - major problems
Disaster Preparation Kit - below is what I found on the internet. Not sure why rice is included - if you have no gas or elec, you cannot cook it .... I would say = make sure you have a portable manual can opener and lots of canned food. Cell phone is a good one .. and twitter was fantastic. Shari from Asuncion and I kept in touch all day. We heard that campers in G Negro were moved to higher ground. that was the extent of intervention
Food - 5-7 days worth per person. Water- 5-7 days worth per person, drink, sanitation. Medication, toiletries, important papers. Batteries, flash lights, cell phone chargers, first aid kits, toilet paper, rice, essentials.
