I am still on my diet and lost another pound in the last couple days - about 30 so far .... and will have to take it easy this holiday season. Too hard to lose after I gain it ..... and I still want to lose another 20 as it is, so.....
Today was an interesting day:
decided to jump start the garage sales before Christmastime and have 2 a week. I am paying the person who does the sale - each one lasts only 3 hours and they make 100 pesos/$8 dollars .. for here - that is a lot of money.... I have my neighbor doing one tomorrow, I will do one Friday, another friend on Sunday and there is a sign up sheet for the other days .... Some days will have 2 going at the same time !!! Why not ?? Different folks will sell different things. And I have a LOT to sell.
I am seriously considering jump starting the recycling too. I am going to pay 2 people to hit the dump and start separating the colored glass and #1 and #2 plastic. I will talk to the delegada (female !!) at our neighboring village. This has to be a joint project.
I taught Englsih to day to a small group of 3 .. they are the neighboring town kids and it is such a shame that there is sucha small group. Hope for more next time - or I will stop doing it .... I also heard thru the grapevine that some parents do NOT want their kids helping to clean up during their school time hours just "to please the gringa"...To say I was disappointed is the understatement of the year...... BUT there is no problem, I will schedule them for Saturdays once every month. The kids are a huge help and I can't do it without them. That is the deal with those who study with me - $1 a month for English classes in exchange for helpuing me clean !!!!! No schooltime used to make their town pretty...no sweat off my back.
I started asking around about having people "adopt" parts of the town for a competition to see who can make it the prettiest. I want to participate so someone else will have to be the judge !! I have helped the library a lot and that will be my and the librarians project !!
The town has changed and I will put up some pics ... there are 2 groups wandering and painting and cleaning ...wish it could be forever but at least it is a start !!
Tonight I will send off emails to the bigwigs asking for donated space in a bldg that is huge and being underused now ...I need an office. And eventually, a location to put the plastic and glass collected. My students suggested I just tell people that they will be paid soon for cardboard and plastic and glass. That way - at least we don't pollute more starting right now. Such a good idea. It is true that 2 or 3 heads are much better than 1 !!

The fishing is hot hot hot right now. Yellowtail and fish all over ....
Two of our guests helped me load a really havy bookshelf I am loaning the library til we can get something nice built in ...
Cori and Todd- THANX !!!The Husband family left and we miss them. They are the most avid fishereople I have ever met. At home they fish 4 days every week -a nd here they were gone ALLLLLLLLL DAY LONG FISHING ...
I ended up buying the table from them - how else to have 2 garage sales at the same time !!
