such a quiet day here in La Bocana today ... almost everyone has gone to San Ignacio for a big funeral. Funerals are huge family affairs - food and coffee and all night vigils with the body in the house. A couple days later, the body is buried, and the whole town parades from the house to the cemetary. None of the fishermen go out - out of respect. Nacho, our neighbor, was one of the organizers this time since he is one of the big jefe's now ....
Gary's son has gone back to the States and he is wandering about a bit aimlessly. We agreed it takes a couple days to get used to an empty house. He and his son went fishing together and watched sunsets and one morning helped us carry a heavy bed inside - which in turn got them invited to a T-bone steak dinner. They asked if they could do us a favor every day !
We have been working on our new septic tank - it takes a lot of digging, but is coming along quickly. The idea is to have it ready for the next guest boom - 3 new rooms with their own baths and ocean views .... sounds like a good plan, don't you agree ?
Official fishing reports will be on Mondays and Les will write them ...
